CQ WW DX SSB 2015 Result
Another Plaque
The results of the CQ WW DX SSB 2015 are published in this CQ magazine article. I win another Plaque (All Band QRP Europe) by finishing second place behind VE3VN. A total of 115 QSOs and 58 multis could not compensate for the higher QSO point value operating from North America. Nevertheless, that is great news taking into account that I operated without my voice being seriously ill that weekend.
Especially, I’m pretty satisfied with my personal UBN Report. Just 4 calls incorrectly copied and 6 not-in-log QSOs aren’t that bad. Nevertheless, still room for improvement 🙂
Reading the CQ magazine article there is a paragraph dealing with John, W2GD, who won the SOAB Assisted Low Power category operating from P4ØW in Aruba: “Nine months ago the doctors told me I had cancer and my prognosis was limited. But, after six months of treatment with a new immuno-therapy drug (and the loving prayers of thousands), last month I achieved the miracle of complete remission … the cancer is currently gone. Unfortunately there is no permanent cure for this, but I’m enjoying every extra day I have.” Hopefully, we are gonna be able to work him in quite a few more contests. Good luck John and see you on the bands.
